Throughout the first book, an apple is used to demonstrate design principles.

Book One

At the left is an excerpt from the book:  Five small tricks of removal when managing negative/positive space and the interplay of foreground/background.

When illustrations are limited to one subject, such as an apple, the creative principle of “variation on a theme” takes over.  Each concept becomes a visual problem to solve, which stretches the creative muscles.  Concepts are shown geometrically, as well as realistically.
